Eating better...

That is my goal for 2007. Eating better, eating healthier, making better choices, and finding new foods that not only bring variety to the dining room table but also are better for me and the girls.

I'm always trying to find new things that will be good for us, and I've been finding a lot of information about Goji Berries. These fruit are grown in the Tibetan and Mongolian Himalayas and are one of the richest sources of antioxidants you can find out there.

Studies are now showing that people you eat the Goji berries on a regular basis are known to rarely suffer from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, or many other diseases that commonly afflict people of the Western Civilization. Something to think about, don't you think?

Available in the actual berry form, you can also buy it as Goji Juice too - which would probably be the best way for my girls to take it. I could probably just serve it to them and they'd be none the wiser! Tell a kid you are making them eat healthier might not be an easy thing, right? lol

And at gojiberries.us you receive free shipping on any order over $40 too! Save some money while getting better! Works for me :)

What a mess

The girls slept downstairs in the family room last night, camping out with all their pillows and blankets and the dogs. It looks like a bomb went off in there. LOL Both the dog crates, crap all over the floor, dishes, one very large popcorn bowl...they are both going to be very busy later getting it all cleaned up! And Alyssa has exams starting on Monday, she has to find some study time in there somewhere too. Fun times, fun times! lol

Good day today!

Ended going to B'water today and bought Winnie a new crate - now I can get the loaner back to Linda! Also picked out some new dishes, another set of silverware (as mine keeps disappearing) and a couple shirts and a hoodie. Was a good day :)

Karen stopped up after school for coffee, Val was here for about 15 mins, and we had a surprise visit from a couple cute guys :D

Making sense of Windows

Do you sometimes wish you could better understand how programs work on your computer? Do you know everything you should know about such programs such as Windows? or Vista - which is a new product put out by Microsoft? I often wonder if I'm not missing out on all the benefits of Windows XP and here's a great chance to figure it all out.

Marc Lion, a Microsoft MVP (and just what *is* a MVP? Well that would stand for Most Valuable Professional) has a great thing going on his web site - Vista & Office 2007 Preview Videos. He is offering to you, at great prices, valuable DVD's on such computer programs as Windows Vista, Word 2007, Excel 2007, Outlook 2007, and Fire Fox 2 just to name a few. And by great prices - not just the low low prices he has listed on his site either! You can take advantage of an awesome deal he has going right now - you can buy ALL the products he has listed on his page, and YOU choose what price you want to pay. How awesome is that?? But you must act fast to take advantage of this huge blow out sale!

Visit his site and see what all he has to offer. I think you'll be very glad you did!

Miserable day here

snow, then freezing rain, and now just rain. UGH roads are a mess - the dogs are loving the snow tho, they really don't care as long as they get to play in it lol If it gets colder again tonight, I doubt there will be school tomorrow double ugh LOL The kids are praying there isn't any and I'm praying there is! HA!

Great clothes that FIT!

I hate trying to find clothes that fit properly - if they fit in the waist then they are miles to long and the legs are 20 times to wide.

Same goes for shirt and blouses. To get them to fit right around the bust then the entire shirt ends up being 2-3 times to big all round. I'm so glad to have finally found Eris Apparel Their clothes are made to fit women with average size bodies, but with fuller chest size. Perfect! At Eris, you'll find beautiful clothes that fit the way you want them too.

AKA Winnie!

Winnie is starting to respond her new name already and is doing just fine! She's a total love bug with me :) Awwww! Of course, Alyssa thinks I'm doing this on purpose so that BOTH dogs prefer my company! LOL Honest I'm not!

Kevin is working hard on becoming friends with her too. It's ummm, shall we say taking a wee bit of time. This is going to be the BIGGEST thing to get her over, and that's her fear of men. But we will :)

I was a sneaky little thing today....

without telling the girls, or heck even knowing what I was about to do until about 12:30 this afternoon, I brought HER home:

this is Little Puss - soon to be named Winnie as soon as we can get her used to it LOL

Isn't she SWEET??? she's sooo soft and I'm hoping really cuddly - right now she's very timid, but slowly getting used to us.

She and Tigger really seem to like each other, no??

Tomorrow is going to be a GLORIOUS day!

why you ask?? Because it's back to school day, that's why! lol and I should be in bed as it's after 1am, but I'm sitting here working on yet ANOTHER freaking $1000 payperpost puzzle (uuugh lol), and trying to get enough laundry done so that we all have something to wear tomorrow LOL

Today was a relatively good day - woke up just after 7:30am and stayed up! Did NOT nap! did some errands, cooked a great supper, got that all cleaned up, we all had baths, I watched a movie (Wayan brothers' Little Man - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! it sucked lol)

all in all a good one :)

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!

Well, 2007 came in with little fan fare, hanging out at the bar, listening to some karaoke (and I sang once, but alas no video sorry lol), and pretty much the worst part was freezing our asses off waiting for a taxi! LOL

Today was spent cleaning, hanging out having brunch with friends :) having supper at Kevin and Tracy's, and now I'm sitting here - trying to decide if I want to start yet another web page LOL I've found a name I like (and it's available!) and now I'm just searching around trying to find a new web host that might be cheaper then the ppl I use for ladynova.com

I'm also trying really hard to not smoke today - I've only had 4 which for me is quite good lol I'm not saying I'm quitting, because frankly that just sets me up to fail LOL But I am choosing to try NOT to smoke. And if I can stop completely then great for me :)

Happy Birthday to ME!

That's right! I'm the big ol' 38 today.

Hmmm. 38. Do I like this number? I'm way too close to 40 now. Am I going to LIKE 40? Probably not LOL But, ehhh, what can you do about it? Not a thing! Nothing special planned today. Might treat us to a night out for supper so I don't have to cook. And I'll go get my usual chocolate swirl cheesecake for my treat tonight :) Gotta LOVE cheesecake!!

And tomorrow is New Years, which means Val, Doug, Jeff and Kelly will be here, Doug will have made is usual salmon dip, and we're heading to Karaoke. Good lord - this could be fun!

And it's over!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh - I pulled it off again! Another Christmas has successfully come and gone, the girls were totally happy with what they got (even tho Alyssa knew about 99% of what she was getting the little sneak LOL) and I didn't go into debt too badly LOL wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Other then the flu invading the household, it really was a perfect Christmas. I love this Holiday, more then anything else I think lol I could totally do without any gifts what so ever, just give me my Christmas trees, my decorations, my lights and my Christmas music.

Speaking of music - if you haven't picked up Sarah McLachalan's newest CD you must go get it now. Not your traditional Christmas stuff, but it's beautiful!

Friday, December 22, 2006

Well crap....

48 hours to the minute and now ALYSSA has the flu. Urrrrgh! PLEASE let it be as short lived as Megan's was. and PLEASE don't let me get it. My turn would be Christmas Eve. I don't need to be throwing up like a mad woman while trying to finish wrapping all the dang presents. Or while trying to cook Christmas dinner.

Not.good.at.all. I think I might cry now! lol

Wednesday, December 20, 2006

oh nooooooooooo!!!

It's happened. What I really didn't need to have happen. The FLU has hit here full force. Poor Megan! She's miserable. Beyond miserable I think. She can't stop throwing up :(

Thank god this is a fast moving virus. It SHOULD be gone in 48 hour or less. Should be. I wonder if I can over dose on Lysol? Because I'm following BOTH kids around with it at the moment LOL Lysol wipes, Lysol spray. EVERYTHING gets a blast of it, whatever the kids touch.

They aren't liking me right now LOL

I'm sad....

2 years ago at this time Tracy and I were planning our trip to the Dominican. We had our trip booked and paid for, had or passports done, and were trying to figure out what all we needed to pack. Organizing all the child care we needed. Dreaming about stepping off that plane on to exotic soil. Spending a glorious week ALONE. No kids, no responsibilities - just the two of us, sand, sun, booze (lol). I'm sad because we SHOULD be planning the exact same trip right now. But *sigh*, we are postponing it until NEXT year (2008) dammit.

It sucks being responsible. Really it does. lol

Another month gone!

Good grief where did November go? Another month gone, and I've done no work to this house lol No painting, wall papering, nada. *sigh* I mean well, honestly I do LOL But the days just seem to slip by and nothing gets done. I really thought that when I quit my job, I'd get all this stuff done.

Who was *I* kidding? LOL I need to win the lottery and then I could hire some people to come in and do it for me. Cute, muscular people. It would be fun to sit here and watch them work.

;)

Oy. I need sleep...

lots and lots of sleep.

I'm an admin at a parenting site, and you know normally we all just get along, play nice - you know, act like the GROWN UP FREAKING ADULTS we really are (oops, sorry, didn't mean to yell like that)

but then? there are times where I'd just like to b!tch slap them all. ohmygod - I thought my children were hard on the head sometimes lol and it didn't help that Bill, our top technical admin, the one guy on the team, the one with the voice of reason, keeps his cool, yada yada - up and QUIT on us LOL I don't blame him one bit. I'm so freaking close to following in his foot steps.
